It seems that the Hasding and Siling Vandals have settled in northern Gaul, focused around lands taken on the Seine. It is unclear how the two separate tribes will reconcile themselves with the idea of sharing a new homeland, or which king will come out on top. For now, they have agreed to govern together, and to share equally in all spoils.

Once the conquest of Frisia reaches its conclusion, Merovech next plans will be for the Vandals, word will be sent to the tribes each with gifts taken from the Frankish kingdoms that Merovech had subjugated fine horses, gold, jewels and gems of pure amber taken from the ancient forests beyond the rhine. Merovech wishes to make it clear that despite other tribes of the east being violent and savage there need be no bad blood between the Franks and the Vandals, their land, Religion and their people will be secure and equal if they come into the fold of the Merovingian kingdom.
Friends will be rewarded, enemies shall know Frankish Justice.

Traders and rumours will be helped along by the King Merovech, who wishes to make clear that the Gallo-Roman and latin speaking people of Gaul can find sanctuary under the Franks, Merovech's Roman name is Germanicus Saelanius a ex Roman Foderati who for much of his early life protected the people of Gaul from the barbarians beyond the Rhine. It pains him to see them forced to abandon their ways and as he is technically a Roman, he feels it is his duty to protect them and their heritage where others have failed them.

The Vandals are happy to trade with the Franks, and to be their friends, but they are not so keen on submission. Hoping to make an ally of the Franks, the King of the Hasding Vandals, Gunderic, offers his daughter, Alda, as a bride for the King of the Franks. He does this in the name of peace and friendship. Of course, the Franks could take it and later claim the Vandal throne, using Alda for legitimacy.

Merovech agrees with the marriage proposal, hoping that Alda is beautiful, he suggests waiving the dowry for the right to call upon Gunderic's forces in war. Merovech also asks whether Gunderic will be interested in becoming the true king of the Vandals on the condition that he names Alda as his heir. Merovech makes it clear that when Gaul is possessed by the Franks Merovech will ensure Gunderic's sons, and their sons, rule as lifetime Governors of Vandallica, in the Merovingan name of course.

Gunderic's Vandals will fight with the Franks when they need, so long as the Franks fight with him when he is in need. Gunderic would rather rule as true king of half a kingdom, than a puppet king over the whole kingdom. He rejects the deal to place Alda as his heir. Alda is sent with a generous 1,000 Aurei dowry, which the Vandals hope will keep Merovech sweet.
