Sporting a set of newly looted metal armour, Niall observed the great project unfold before him. It was not often the children of Eiru were outshone on the sea, but his recent foray into Dumnonia reminded Niall that there were grand fleets of floating Crannogs outside the known world. Indeed, why should the Lia Fail roar support for Niall's Kingship if he himself is just a child playing warlord.
The slaves had been tasked with moving the timber, the local Tuathas recompensed for the donation of their resources, the legendary Gaelic craftsmen employed to assemble the great Keels and the finest killers and sailors under Niall's kingdom gathered for their crew. No longer would Niall and his kin be simple avatars of Abhartach, parasitically draining the livelihoods of others, only to be forced out and to return again the next night determined for more. Now, the Eireann would forge their own destinies and form their own Empires across the sea. The process had already begun. Niall, with blessings from the Tuatha de Denann would live to sea a day where entire foreign Kingdoms were subjugated, rather than a few of foreign birth enslaved.
OoC: Niall has commissioned the development of three brand new Keels, the first of a grand Gaelic fleet.

Construction begins on the Keels, employing the finest craftsmen from the Gaelic world, and even a young Saxon from the south of Britain, to advise on the latest techniques. The ships will be ready within a year.
