The dual kings of Vandalica command personal retinues of full-time warriors, mounted and largely armed with spear, mail, helm and shield - with many swords present. The king is expected to fill their pockets with treasure, and their loyalty is based on their master's success and generosity. The population of the kingdom owe military service to the kings, who may levy them for the campaign season.
