King Respendial of the Alans has begun a process of consolidation, clearly intending to make Hispania into his own kingdom. There have been small skirmishes against the Suevi in the northwest, and a great host has marched up the east coast of Hispania, claiming cities as it goes. Finally, the host surrounds the city of Tarraco, the seat of the provincial administration, and forces them into capitulation. Many of the inhabitants are taken as slaves, and others slaughtered. The city is sacked for all it is worth, and churches stand roofless and bare after the devastation.
King Respendial celebrates the end of a successful campaign with a full week of feasting, drinking and entertainment for his army, and proclaims this land Alanya.
